John Lawrence Kerwood age 73 of Oak Hill formerly of Mason died November 29, 2014. He was born October 7, 1941 in Mammoth and was the son of the late Everett Oscar and Julia Nollege Kerwood. Also preceding him in death are his sisters Mary McGraw, Iris Barker, Helen Hedrick, Grace Harvey and Flora Eskridge and brothers Paul, Clarence (Shake) and James Kerwood.

He was retired from Allied Block at New Haven and he was a veteran of the US Navy. John loved to hunt and fish and he loved his family. He was a Christian and he was a great uncle.

Surviving: wife Betty Ford Kerwood; sisters-in-law Brenda Kerwood, Novagene Lowery, Rhonda Keller and Fonda Washington; brothers-in-law Gary Lowery, Bruce Ford and Trinity Washington; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ryan Anderson and his staff and Hospice Care and also the neighbors of Pine Knoll for all there wonderful care and help.

Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens at Letart. Friends can call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
