Obituary for Carol Leas Hess

Carol Lea Hess 79 of Smithers passed away February 21, 2018 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Smithers on August 4, 1938 to the late Frank and Kate Edelman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Thomas Hess.

She was a lifelong member of the Smithers Church of God and a retiree of City National Bank, Montgomery.

She is survived by her children; Cynthia Hess of Smithers, Melissa Williams (Robbie) of Beckley, Kelli Keglor (Bobby) of Smithers, Thomas Hess (Amber) of Charlton Heights, brother; Robert Edelman (Doris) of Cannelton, sisters; Maxine Treadway of Powellton, Elizabeth Edelman of Smithers, nephew; Michael Edelman (Pam) of Smithers; her beloved friend of 10 years Bill Perry of Summersville; grandchildren; Tara Redman, Brian Whittington, Destini Williams, Brittany Hess, Madison Fleming, Timmy Farley, Hunter Hess, Austin Hess, great-grandchildren; Ethan Redman, Kaiden Randolph, and Gracie Farley.

Service will be at 1PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Smithers Church of God with Pastor Joe Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call from 11AM till time of service at the church. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
