Obituary for Douglas Eugene Ball
Douglas Eugene Ball 75 of Deep Water died January 2, 2018. He was born March 6, 1942 at Marting and was the son of the late Millard and Rosa Hogston Ball. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Aileen Woolwine Ball, his wife Vinta Ball, his children Josiah Woolwine, Richard Woolwine and Stella Simmons, a brother Donnie Ball and sister Helen Carver.
He was retired from the City of Montgomery and a member, Decon and Trustee of the Deep Water Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters; Carole George (Don) of Florida, Patricia Farley (Charles) of Tennessee, Jackie Bee (Bill) of Deep Water, sons; Bill Ball (Jeannie) of Boomer, Tom Woolwine (Ethel) of Oregon, Brian Woolwine (Darlene) of Florida, Harry Woolwine (Marsena) of South Carolina and 43 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1PM at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Stephen Murphy and Rev. Tom Skaggs officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
