Obituary for James R. "Jim" Criniti

James R. Criniti age 77 of Mt. Carbon died August 22, 2017. He was born April 25, 1940 in Boomer and he was the son of the late James and Mary Podelco Criniti.

He was a local business man and General Contractor and former professor at West Virginia Institute of Technology. He was also a member of Fayette County Urban Renewal Authority, Member of Fayette County Planning Commission, He retired from West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Jim was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force and an avid WVU Sports fan.

One of Jim's many accomplishments was co-developer of Adena Village, a housing community of close nit family and friends where he and his family have very fond memories. He received his college education at Wichita State University and West Virginia Institute of Technology, and Masters Degree in Public Health from Virginia Tech.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years Doris Dew Criniti; children Gina Crinity Gorisek and husband David and their children Savannah and Isabella of Pittsburgh, Dr. Dina Criniti and son Brock Bates of Charleston and James "Jimbo" Criniti of Charleston; sisters Rosemary Wills and husband Jim and Connie Argento and her late husband Delegate Sam Argento; brother-in-law Gary Dew and his wife Robbie and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 PM Saturday at St. Anthony's Shrine Catholic Church at Boomer with Fr. Biju Devassy as Celebrant. Internment will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 6-9PM on Friday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery where a Christian wake service will be held at 8:30.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Jim's favorite charity St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
