Obituary for William Roger Wagner, II

On Monday, April 8, 2019, Roger Wagner, loving fiancée, father and grandfather, passed away suddenly at the age of 57.

Roger was born on November 27th, 1961 in Montgomery, WV to Roger and Linda Wagner. He received his Engineering degree from WV Tech in 1985, and he worked at WV Manufacturing as the corporate director of quality and plant environmental engineer. On April 5, 2019, while vacationing, he proposed to Rita Trent at Mallory Square in Key West, FL. at sunset. He raised two children, Jason and Amanda with his former spouse Cindy Wagner.

Roger had a passion for many things, but his favorite things were fishing, his family and being with his love Rita. He was an avid fisherman and had a love for the great outdoors, he made many trips to Canada and Montana with his fishing buddies. His garage was like walking in to a Bass Pro Shop. He had several citations for Small Mouth, he was known as a great fisherman. Spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite activity, Jillian, Isaiah and Isabella were his life, Papaw Orange as he was known by many, spent countless days at the ball field, track meets, dance recitals, and loved every minute of it. He made an impact on everyone he met, he never met a stranger and lit up every room he walked in to. He was known for his crazy sense of humor and had a way of making any situation fun.

Roger is survived by his parents, Big Roger and Linda Wagner of Boomer WV, his fiancée Rita Trent of Richmond VA, his son and family, Jason and Jessica King of Nitro WV, their children, Jillian King, Jacob Miller, Hannah Miller and her son Jensen Rogers, his daughter and family Amanda and Joshua Howell of Charlton Heights WV, their children Isaiah and Isabella, his sister and her husband, Kim and Doug Newbell.

Service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, April 14 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, WV with Pastor James Nesson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
