Obituary for Gordon Kay Maner

Gordon Kay Maner age 81 of Cannelton went home to be with his Lord where he is no doubt patrolling the streets of Heaven. He was born May 22, 1937 in Montgomery and was the son of the late John and Opal Craigo Maner. He was also predeceased by his brother Quentin Maner and nephews Phillip and Roger Maner.
He had formerly worked at the Handley, YMCA and the Fayette Bottling Company in Montgomery.
He loved the community of Montgomery and Smithers where he grew up and everyone knew him as “Roadrunner”. He served his community faithfully helping wherever and when ever he could. He knew everyone and everyone knew and loved him. A special thanks to this community for showing there love to Gordon in so many ways especially the churches of the area and his favorite haunts -Krogers and Burger Carte.
A special thanks to his wonderful caregiver and dear friend Michelle Bess and all those who helped care for Gordon.
In lieu of flowers please give a donation to an organization here in Montgomery or Smithers in Gordon’s memory.
Surviving is his beloved nephews and nieces David, Will, Mark, Linda, Beth and Lora.
Service will be Sunday at 2:00 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Pastor Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
