Obituary for Tonia Lynn Dempsey

Tonia Lynn Dempsey, 45, of East Bank, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a woman of strong faith which never waivered during her illness. Tonia was a member of Handley Baptist Church and had great love for her church family.
Tonia was an employee of Charleston Newspapers and HD Media with 23 years of service. She loved her co-workers and valued their love and friendship. She always loved a good book and baking special treats for her family and friends. Of all the things she valued, she loved her family the most.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Macleery; grandparents, Lloyd and Loraine Atkinson, and Harry and Virginia Trail; father-in-law, Jack Dempsey; and her beloved dog, Shiloh Bob Beaglesworth.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 20 years, Michael Dempsey; son, Landon, at home; mother, Pam Macleery of East Bank; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Greg Dempsey of East Bank; mother-in-law, Judy Dempsey of Glasgow; sister-in-law, Karen Dempsey of Oak Hill; and niece, Allyson Dempsey of Buckhannon, of whom she was very proud and loved like she was her own daughter.
The family wishes to thank Tonia's doctors and nurses, with a special thank you to the SICU nurses at Charleston Memorial for their special care, love and kindness. They would also like to thank Hubbard Hospice House for their special care.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 10, at O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery. Friends may call one hour prior to service.
Tonia's final resting place will be at the place she loved most, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
