Obituary for James Henry Groom
James Henry Groom age 64 of Montgomery died February 21, 2018. He was born December 26, 1953 in Boomer and is the son of Helen M. Timmons Groom of Boomer and the late Joseph R. Groom Sr.
He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Kimberly and he was retired from the City of Montgomery Sanitary Board.
Surviving; wife Karen Y. Woods Groom; children Tia Woods of Montgomery, Erica Woods of Montgomery, Tiffany Groom of Montgomery, Whitley Groom of Orville, OH and Sherkiri Terrrell of Montgomery; brothers Joseph Groom Jr. (Stephanie) of Kimberly, Kenneth Groom (Patricia) of Dunbar, Charles Groom of Kimberly, Patrick Groom of Kimberly and Frederick Carter of Greenville, TX; sisters Denise Mitchell and Barbara Brockman; 3 grandchildren.
Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the First Missionary
Baptist Church in Kimberly with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Haven Memorial Park at Ingram Branch. Friends may call 2 hours prior to service at the church. Expressions can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
