Frederick Wayne Fitzwater 72 of Smithers died October 30, 2017. He was born in Boomer on October 7, 1945 to the late Frederick L. and Thelma Dempsey Fitzwater.

He was a veteran of the US Navy a member of Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers He retired from Elkem Metals, Alloy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dixie Persinger Fitzwater son, Timothy W. Fitzwater and his wife Maria of Staunton, VA., granddaughter; Sabrina Lopetrone of Hurricane, WV, sister; Brenda Mitchell of Arkansas.

Service will be at 1PM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Chester Bird and Pastor Jon Dillon officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
