Obituary for Larry Wayne "Butch" Ballard

Larry Wayne “Butch” Ballard age 76 a lifelong resident of Cannelton passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Butch was born on November 16, 1941 to William and Mollie Ballard.

He was retired from Cannelton Industries Coal Company and Rhone-Poulenc and was a disabled Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Willie, Charles, James, Robert, Florence, Genave, Mary Rose and Faye.

He is survived by his wife Chris Cordle Ballard; daughters Heather Ballard, Brooke Massey and husband Brian, Leslie Roddy and husband David and Devon Neese and husband Christopher; grandchildren Jacob, Chloe, Lexy, Chase, David, Charlie, Eli, Scarlet and Baby Roddy due in February and he is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and one very special nephew and buddy Todd Workman; his siblings Donald Ballard and wife Bethel of Fayetteville, Phyllis Persinger of Huntington Sue Cantley and husband Richard of Parkersburg, Gary Ballard of Huntington and Rita Workman and husband Chris of Falls View.

Honoring his request he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at the UMWA Local Union Hall in Cannelton on Saturday June 30th at 11:00 AM with Fr. Leon Alexander and Pastor Mason Ballard officiating.

Knowing his love of the Mountaineers all that desire to can wear gold and blue.
