Bernice Alfreda “Keta” Washington 76 of Montgomery passed away from a short illness on May 28, 2018. She was born in Charleston, WV on May 7, 1942 to the late Fred Dowl and Isabelle Mitchell Washington. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Willie C. Washington, Fred D. Washington, Jr., Ethel Williams, Charles A. Washington, and Leonard Washington. As well as 2 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
She was a retired LPN at Montgomery General Hospital, a graduate of Montgomery High School, and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carbondale.
She is survived by her children; Suzanne Washington Smith (Michael W.) of Charleston, Leonard Washington of Montgomery, Lawrence Michael Washington (Tricia) of Dunbar, brother; Lawrence E. Washington (Colleen) of Kimberly, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 2PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carbondale with Rev. R.D. Morton officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
