Obituary for Janice Kay Atkinson

Janice K. Atkinson, a long time East Bank, WV resident, passed away on January 12, 2018 due to a short unexpected illness. Janice grew up in Crown Hill, WV relocating to Ashford, WV with family and then back to East Bank, where she resided until her passing.

Janice graduated from East Bank High School. Her professional career was in management with Speedway. She retired after more than 25 years. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. Janice was known for “Mom’s Spaghetti” and “Mom’s Candy”. She was also known to fell her grandkids with treats.

Janice is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry and Pam Rose, Lloyd and Amy Atkinson, Joey and Lindsey Atkinson, grandchildren; Mathew, Jerry, Jr., Andy, Allison, Jordan, Aden, Kaylynn, Hudson, and Alaina. Seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Atkinson, Jr., parents; Monroe and Sadie Dooley, daughter; Robin, brothers; Harold Stringer, and Jimmy Dooley, sister; Billy Barker, and grandson Brycen Atkinson.

Service will be held at the Crown Hill Freewill Baptist Church on January 27, 2018 at 2PM. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
