Condolence: I just want to let you know Russell & James how sorry I am for your mother's loss...she was a great woman at heart and I'm happy that I got to spend 13 years of my life knowing her like my mother in law..she could make you cry and she could make you laugh at the same time but I wouldn't have changed nothing about her she was her own person and she worked hard at everything she done.I hate that she passed but although I'm thankful she is in no more pain. The grief that she went though when she was only 8 having to watch her mother pass took a toll on her it never got easier it only got worse for her. I'm also thankful that she opened up to me with all the problems she went through as from a child to an adult it saddens me to know what all she struggled through in life but she still kept her head held high and worked at her hardest at anything she done...she was one proud mother,grandmother and a very proud coal miner...I will cherish all the memories that she shared with me and my family. I love and have missed you RuthAnn. Now you may rest in peace.

Condolence: Dear Russell and James,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your Grandmother, Watha, and my mother, Mabel, were sisters. I talked with you and your mother at Watha's funeral and your mother and grandmother attended my mother's memorial service in May of 2013. I remember Watha telling us about your mother being the first female coal miner but I had forgotten until I read the obituary. It was a lovely memory. I hope you are very proud of your mother's accomplishments.
I also remember your grandfather, Russell. My mother would often take us to visit Watha and Russell. One time we visited them camping on the Kanawha River.
Please know our family loved your family.
