Obituary for Lucy Virginia Davis

Lucy Virginia Ramsey Davis age 89 of Falls View formerly of Deepwater, WV passed away May 11, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born November 3, 1927 to the late Oakey and Ammie King Ramsey of Clay, WV. Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband Alvah Davis Sr., daughter Evelyn Jane Davis, son Alvah Davis Jr. and granddaughter Delta Mae Davis and great-granddaughter Lacey Dahl. She was also predeceased by her second husband Charles Ballard, her brothers Freeman Ramsey and Grant Ramsey and sisters Goldie Pickens, Slyvia Bruner and Ruth Ramsey.

Surviving: daughter Wanda Schoolcraft and husband Jim and sons James and Chris, son Robert and their children, Shiela, Robbie and Tiffany, son Ralph "Eddie" and wife Darlene and their children Chad and Kelly, Son Kenny and wife Robin and their daughter Carey. Lucy had thirteen great-grandchildren Robby, Kailee, Jesse, Summer, Hannah, David, Alexis, Blake, Christina, Charlie, Maddie, Felicity and Jordan and also two great-great grandchildren Amaea and Anneleise and special friends Thelma Tyler and Judy Crisp.

She was a member of the Huddleston Community Church in Falls View. Lucy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor and a friend to everyone she met. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always looked forward to them visiting. She also loved working in her garden and cooking for her family.

The family wishes to thank everyone who took care of Lucy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Gary Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
