Obituary for Georgiana "Ann" Adkins

Our mother, Georgiana "Ann" Adkins, 90 of Livingston, entered into her Heavenly Father's arms on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

She had fought a courageous battle with cancer over the past four months. Mom fought the fight and finished well; this was exemplified by the life and legacy she left her family.

She was one of the founding and the last living charter member of the Gallagher Nazarene Church. The church always held a sacred and special place in her heart. Mom was totally devoted to God, her family and her church-visiting and praying for them daily; she was well described as a "prayer warrior". The notations made in Mom's Bible were part of the legacy she left to her family.

Our mother was born on December 27, 1926 to Clyde and Virginia Reed Bobbitt and lived on Paint Creek all of her life. She married the love of her life, Paul Adkins, and remained in love for over 71 years until his death 16 months ago. Mom was also preceded in death by her son Paul Edmond; sisters, Christine Cantley, May Patrick, Irene Burnett, and brother Clyde Bobbitt.

She is survived by her daughters Joyce Embrey and husband David; Becky Clark and husband Leonard all of East Bank. She is also survived by her grandchildren David Lee and Gwen Embrey of Gallagher, Jimmy and Amy Embrey of Burning Springs, Tim and Melinda Embrey of East Bank; Debbie and Butch Filbin, Rachel and Tim Kirk, Michael and Jennifer Clark and Greg and Samantha Clark all of East Bank. Also left to cherish her memory are 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Friends and Family may call at O'Dell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. with funeral services being held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gallagher Nazarene Church with Rev. Daniel Saylor and Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park in London. Expressions of sympathy may be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
