Obituary for Alvin Colman "Pete" Gooden

Alvin “Pete” Gooden, of Pratt, born November 13, 1937, passed away October 22, 2016, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Arthur Gooden and Clara Gooden and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Noel and Alice VanQuathen and one brother Palmer Van Over.

He was retired from the State of West Virginia DMV and was a veteran of the Air Force. He was also a former Police Officer for the Town of Pratt. He belonged to the Old Kanawha Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Nancy Gooden of Pratt, his daughter Lynn Gooden of Pratt, Michael Gooden and Partner Greg Rosow of Eldersburg Maryland and one sister Patsy Fornash and her husband Warren of Hughsville Maryland and numerous nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his “Special” grandkids whom he loved as his own.

Family wishes to express a special thanks to all of Pete's caregivers.

Service will be 1PM Wednesday October 26, at Old Kanawha Baptist Church, Pratt WV with Pastor David Baughan officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London WV. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday October 25, at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery WV.
