Obituary for Victoria Louise Lynch

Victoria White Lynch, 87, passed away Wednesday evening August 31 st , after a brief illness, at the home of her son, in Scott Depot, surrounded by brothers and sisters. She finally got her wish to join Al, beloved husband of 60 years who died in 2013.

She was born on December 30, 1928 in Boomer, WV, to the late Joseph and Maria White. Vickie was not only the ninth of fourteen children she was also the heart and soul of the White Family. She had a quiet grace and kindness, and was generous to a fault. While known for her Blue Ribbon Award Winning cakes and chocolate chip cookies, she will truly be remembered for the literally thousands of delicious handmade meatballs she made for family, neighbors and friends.

Vickie retired from the Shipping Dept at Elkem Metals/Union Carbide in 1994 with 22 years of service. She started in the IT Dept when the plant was first owned by the Electro Metallurgical Corporation (EMCO) and later managed the Alloy Employees Federal Credit Union in its infancy. She was an honor graduate of Gauley Bridge High School, a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boomer and a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas – St. Ann’s Court.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Lynch; son, David and infant daughter Patricia; Brothers - John, Mike, Lawrence and Fred and Sisters - Elizabeth, Anna and Teresa.

She is survived by her son Alfred,II and daughter-in- law Margie of Scott Depot, granddaughter Victoria Le (Khai) of Toms River, NJ : grandsons Brian Lynch of Greensboro, NC and Alfred,III (Ashley) of Hurricane, WV; Sisters, Nancy White of Morgantown, Angelina Mullins of Winfield and Veola Grounds of Montgomery; Sister-In Law Regina Craffey of Charleston, Brothers, Amelio of Dunbar, Anthony of Boomer and William (Dosha) of Boomer. Also very special in her life were the many nieces and nephews in the White/Lynch families.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday at St. Anthony's Shrine Catholic Church in Boomer with Fr. Biju Devassy and Fr. Leon Alexander as Co Celebrants. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday at the church where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:00 PM.
