Coach Charles Robert "Charlie Bob"  Dotson
Coach Charles R. "Charlie Bob" Dotson age 77 of Montgomery died March 24, 2016. He was born January 16, 1939 in Montgomery and he was the son of the late Charles Otis and Ellen Elizabeth Johnson Dotson.

He was a 1956 graduate of Montgomery High School and a 1960 graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology. He received his masters degree in occupational safety from Marshall University. Coach Dotson was a coach and teacher in the Fayette County, WV schools from 1960 until 1987 having retired from Valley High School in Smithers. He also coached foot ball at West Virginia Tech and he was a teacher and coach at Ashville High School in Ashville, NC.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Gilkerson Dotson; children Charles Robert Dotson Jr. and his wife Amy of Greenville, SC and Ellen Marie Dotson of Montgomery; grandchildren Charles Peyton and Neyland Robert and a brother Tommy Gilkerson of Kanawha Falls and John Scott of Oak Hill.

Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Football Field of West Virginia Tech in Montgomery with Rev. Craig Petry officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
